Rick Darer
CFO
Rick has over 25 years of high-tech financial and operations experience. He has held numerous leadership roles within private and public corporations managing finance, accounting & treasury, legal, human resources, IT and operations.
Rick's most recent role was SVP & Chief Financial Officer at Gomez, a internet infrastructure company, where he contributed to growing the company four-fold during his tenure that culminated in a sale of the Company to Compuware. Previously, Rick was CFO at Unica Corp. and led a successful IPO offering while Unica grew to $100m in revenue.
Rick has also held CFO roles at Modus Media International, White Pine Software and Gensym Corporation and various financial and operations positions at large organizations including Computervision Corporation and General Electric.
Rick holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an M.S. in industrial engineering from Northeastern University, and a B.S. in mathematics from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn.
Richard C. Kimball is a Senior Director of The Bigelow Company’s Investment Banking Group and has been instrumental in all aspects of assisting entrepreneurs to build exceptional organizations and to capture the enterprise value they have created.
Dick has managed numerous client relationships in distribution, printing, technology, aerospace, and service industries for U.S. and foreign clients. Companies have found Kimball’s experience, thought leadership, and sheer positive energy to be a highly valued resource, especially when contemplating shifts in business and personal strategies. Kimball’s particular interest includes hands on consultative work with issues such as strategy, governance, management succession, and ownership transition.
Kimball’s operating experience includes serving as an executive of Rock of Ages Corporation, a worldwide distributor of granite products. Prior to joining Bigelow, Kimball served in a number of operating and consulting positions with Universal Packaging, Unilever, Control Data Corporation, and The U.S. Department of Commerce, The World Bank, and The U.S. Department of State.
Recent publications include The Wealth Creation Process and Initiating Change in Turbulent Times – The Role of the Board and the Advisors. He was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from Babson College and was the recipient of the Meritorious Service Award by the U.S. Department of State. He has been quoted in a number of publications including the American Bankers magazine, CFO magazine, and the Wall Street Journal. He is also a frequent panelist and commenter on topics dealing with acquisition, divestitures, governance, and corporate strategy.
Kimball is an enthusiastic supporter of community programs including board and trustee roles at such organizations as the United Way, Canterbury Shaker Museum, Babson College, Boston Lyric Opera, The Federated Arts, and many others. Dick has also served on the Board of several private and public companies.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Babson College where he has served as a member of the Board of Trustees for over 20 years, and has chaired several Councils on Entrepreneurship, Business Strategy, and Global Business.
Dick has been with The Bigelow Company for over 25 years.

Tony Perkins is a shareholder at Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson a 105 attorney firm with offices in Portland and Augusta, Maine and Manchester, New Hampshire. As Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group and Co-Chair of the firm’s Business Law Practice Group his practice encompasses counseling of individual and business clients involved in the formation, development and sales of companies and the commercialization of advanced technologies of all types, including, software, computer hardware, Internet and e-commerce services, clean energy/technology, food supplements, communications services and all related intellectual property matters. Tony also advises his clients on debt and equity financings, joint ventures, product development and commercialization alliances and ultimately on company sales, mergers and acquisitions.
As the manager of TechVentures Group, a business advisory division of Bernstein, Shur, Tony works to assemble outsourced management teams and professionals designed to assist owners of technology-oriented businesses with plans for growth, strategic alliances, sales, mergers and equity investment. Many of these business planning engagements involve transactions that cross state and national borders.
